Publiceer, Faustinus, nu eindelijk je geschriften,

maakt het verzorgde, geleerde werk nu openbaar,

dat door de burcht van Cecrops en Pandion*  niet wordt veroordeeld,

door wijzen niet wordt verzwegen of genegeerd.

De Faam staat voor je deur, aarzel niet haar binnen te laten.

Schaam je je om de prijs te ontvangen voor je werk?

Laten geschriften, die na jou voort zullen leven, nu door jou

ook beginnen te leven. Als je dood bent, komt roem te laat!
